The Vigneti Massa winery was born on the rolling Piedmont hills of Monleale alto, in the province of Alessandria, back in 1879 by the ancestors of the current owner Walter Massa. Territory always particularly suited to the cultivation of vines, the Colli Tortonesi , in addition to the typical vines of the area such as Barbera, Croatina and Freisa, host the Timorasso, an ancient native variety that risked extinction . In the eighties, Walter rediscovered this grape variety by sensing its potential and obtaining memorable and unmistakable wines, so much so that it deserved the nickname of " Father of Timorasso ". The wines obtained from this white grape variety take the name of Derthona (ancient name of the city of origin, Tortona ), wines with a full-bodied, soft and mineral sip that lend themselves to accompany refined fish dishes and delicious aperitifs from this beginning season.
