A historic winery in the Val di Chiana, Tenimenti d'Alessandro was among the first to have discovered, also thanks to the extraordinary zoning work carried out by the illustrious prof. Attilio Scienza of the University of Milan, a unique vocation for the Syrah grape variety in the Cortona area . The climate, the dry summer with abundant light, the temperature and the strong presence of clay allow to best express the potential of this grape variety, characteristics that can define the Cortonese terroir as a small and happy Côtes du Rhône in the southeast of Tuscany .
Added to this is the improvement in agronomic techniques, developed with the invaluable advice of Danny Schuster, New Zealand winegrower linked to great names in wine such as Ornellaia and Opus One, aimed at identifying the perfect production balance and optimal ripening of the grapes ; followed by separate vinifications, parcel by parcel, in order to best develop the preciousness that this characteristic terroir reserves.

The top wines, awarded several times with the 3 glasses of the Gambero Rosso , have also obtained prestigious awards from international critics: the Migliara 2006 label , in its debut year, was awarded 98/100 points by the Wine Spectator magazine , while Il Bosco 2007 received the gold medal at "Syrah Du Monde" 2011 , ranking first among the Italians and fourth in the general ranking.
