Tenuta Rapitalà

The Rapitalà estate was born in 1968 in Camporeale, in the province of Palermo, when the French count Hugues Bernard de la Gatinais married the descendant of an important Palermitan family, Luigia "Gigi" Guarrasi, owner of the land.

The two are engaged in the reconstruction of the cellars, destroyed by the Belice Valley earthquake, and thanks to the French influences of the count, international French varieties such as Catarratto, Grillo and Nero d'Avola are planted together with indigenous Sicilian vines Chardonnay and Syrah , which today constitute the real soul of the company's production.

It is thanks to wines such as the Chardonnay "Grand Cru" , already winner of the Tre Bicchieri del Gambero Rosso, that the name Rapitalà has risen to the headlines, a perfect demonstration of technique and skill in the vinification of the famous grape variety that can afford to rival with the French ones to which it is directly inspired , as well as Syrah "Solinero" (90 pt. Veronelli) , an intriguing wine, with a remarkable structure and particularly soft tannins. While the Alcamo Classico DOC "Vigna Casalj" perfectly represents the expression of the Catarratto grape, which through a slight passage in oak barrels amplifies all its potential given by the typical Mediterranean scents, which makes up the "mosaics" range together with the Syrah "Nadir", Pinot Noir - Nero d'Avola "Nuhar" and Nero d'Avola "Alto Nero".
