Known to few, the prickly pear, the fruit of the nopales cactus (cacti with beaver tail-like paddles), is actually quite edible and, despite being covered with the tiny hair-like thorns, this fruit is really sweet. The prickly pear gives its name to the Masseria Ficarigna, which portrays all of Apulia's biodiversity in its labels.

Offering roundness and persistence thanks to the temperatures and fully ripened grapes, wines such as the Primitivo (95 pts Maroni) and Nero di Troia (95 pts Maroni) offer measured vivacity, excellent persistence and a charge of red fruits with some herbaceous reverberations. Negroamaro Rosato (94 pts Maroni) brings freshness and crisp fruit notes to the table. The Susumaniello (94 pts Maroni), with great structure and notes of blackcurrants and great momentum on the palate, cannot be missed. With these premises, it will not be difficult to taste all the richness of Salento live.
