Jonnie Walker whiskey was born in 1820, when the founder of the same name, John Johnnie Walker, began to apply his knowledge of whiskey tea blender in his grocery store in Ayrshire. In 1857 his eldest son, Alexander, inherited the family business and, a few years later, with his sons George and Alexander Junior, the company began the unstoppable rise to success: already in 1920 the brand was known in more than 120 countries, becoming the best known and most sold whiskey in the world. In addition to the square shape of the bottle, the inclined label with the "Striding Man", the man who walks with a sure pace, contributes to making it an inimitable product with a strong personality. The range now includes around ten labels, including the classic Red Label (89/100 pt. Wine Enthusiast); the Black Label (90/100 pt.), in which the single malts of Caol Ila and Talisker predominate; the Gold Label (93/100 pt.), a blend of over 15 single malts created by Alexander Jr. to commemorate the centenary of the company; or the Blue Label (95/100 pt.), soft and balanced top of the range elaborated to recreate the taste of the first blends of the 19th century.
