Castellare di Castellina

Located inside the natural amphitheater of one of the oldest areas of the Chianti Classico , Castellare di Castellina was born in the 70s with the aim of producing the best possible quality wine, an objective that it achieves thanks to a selection of the best clones of the Sangiovese and the use of the barrique in refinement under the indications of the greatest winemaker of all time, Emile Peynaud .

Among the top products of the cellar there is the wine "I Sodi di S. Niccolò" , a Toscana IGT son of a blend of Sangiovese and Malvasia Nera grapes, which characterizes it in a particular way. The name of this oenology masterpiece, which has become one of the Italian wines with the highest number of awards from national and international critics , is the story of the difficult terrains from which they originate, the "hard ones", which require a completely manual management in the vineyard , and of the best positions for the vineyards, located around the Church of San Niccolò, in the heart of the same property. This is accompanied by the Chianti Classico and its Riserva version , structured, intense wines, suitable for long aging , with a certain charm.

As a symbol of the efforts made to protect and safeguard the environment , a different bird stands out on the company's labels every year , chosen from among the endangered ones, all depicted on the 33 + 3 Harvest , a blend of some of the most representative wines di Castellare di Castellina, I Sodi di San Niccolò, Poggio ai Merli and Coniale, enclosed in a single great wine to celebrate the 36 vintages of the estate.
