Description
The Toscana Mix 36 by Mazzei was born from a unique project of the Castello di Fonterufoli, based on 4 decades of mass and clonal selection of Sangiovese grown on the Sienese hills, in the municipality of Castelnuovo Berardenga.
It is produced with Sangiovese grapes from 36 different biotypes, whose bunches are hand-picked at the end of September. The grapes are fermented at a controlled temperature of 26-28 ° C and macerated for 20 days in French oak barrels. The malolactic fermentation and aging, which lasts 18 months, also take place in French oak barrels (50% of which are new).
Mix 36 is a fresh and elegant wine. The bouquet is complex and persistent and opens on the nose with hints of red fruits. In the mouth it is soft and full-bodied, balanced by the long persistence.
Perfect to accompany spicy roasted meats and stewed game, it is ideal to accompany dishes based on mushrooms and truffles. Also excellent with medium and long-aged cheeses.
