Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé AOC 2010 Château Clos de L'Oratoire
Description
The Château Clos de l'Oratoire comes from a 13-hectare vineyard located on the north-east slope of Saint-Emilion, from a soil consisting of the famous Fronsac sandstones, formed by a layer of sandy soil and clayey subsoil, ideal for cultivation of Merlot.
The result of a blend in which Merlot predominates accompanied by Cabernet Franc, it is the result of meticulous work in the vineyard that culminates in a manual and careful harvest of the grapes. Fermentation takes place for 22-30 days in oak vats which enrich the wine in color and aromas and allow it to reach its full potential. After the malolactic fermentation, the wine ages in 80% new French oak barrels for 18 months.
Dark crimson red in color, it releases powerful fruity aromas and earthy nuances to the nose. On the palate it is rounded and opulent thanks to the massive presence of Merlot, while Cabernet Franc helps to give power, aromatic complexity and a long final persistence.
Perfect for accompanying excellent preparations based on red meat or game. Recommended in the company of a roast pheasant or a good platter of aged cheeses.
