Description
Rosso di Montalcino Campo ai Sassi comes from the CastelGiocondo di Frescobaldi estate in the Sienese municipality of Montalcino.
It is produced exclusively with Sangiovese grapes, harvested and selected entirely by hand. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks, with maceration in contact with the skins for 16 days. After malolactic fermentation, the wine ages for 8 months partly in steel and partly in Slavonian oak barrels, followed by 4 months of bottle aging.
It has a bright ruby red color, with light purple hues. The nose opens with a complex and rich bouquet, with notes of small red and floral fruits. On the palate it is full-bodied and balanced, with a very long finish and fruity hints in the aftertaste.
Perfect to accompany first courses with meat sauce, it is ideal in combination with game and red meats.
