Montefalco Sagrantino DOCG 2015 Antonelli
Description
Antonelli's Montefalco Sagrantino rises on the slopes of the Umbrian hills, in the heart of the Montefalco Sagrantino DOCG.
It is the traditional wine of Montefalco, produced exclusively with Sagrantino grapes, which is harvested entirely by hand in the second week of October. After reaching the gravity maceration tanks, the must ferments on its skins at a controlled temperature of 25-28 ° C for 25-40 days. This is followed by 24 months of aging between barrels and oak barrels, then for 12 months in cement tanks and for another 12 months in the bottle, before being put on the market.
It has an intense ruby red color. The nose shows evident ethereal and fruit notes, among which citrus and cherries stand out, with hints of aromatic herbs such as mint and oregano to complete the picture. In the mouth it proves a particularly structured and persistent wine, with well integrated tannins in the whole taste.
Perfect to serve even after 30 years in the bottle, it goes well with grills and roasts, not even disdaining game and long-aged hard cheeses.
