Marsala Superiore Riserva Semisecco DOC Targa 2006 Florio
Description
The Marsala Superiore Riserva 1840 Semi-dry Targa di Florio was born in vineyards located on the coastal strip of the municipality of Marsala, in the province of Trapani.
It is made entirely from Grillo grapes, harvested manually, at advanced ripeness, between the second and third week of September. After pressing the grapes with a high sugar content, fermentation takes place at controlled temperature. The preparation of the tanning follows, by adding to the must of mistella, cooked must and wine distillate, after which the wine ages for at least 7 years in oak barrels, for over 12 months in ancient carats and in the bottle for a further 6 months.
The Marsala Superiore Riserva Targa di Florio has a bright amber color, with topaz reflections. The nose opens with a pronounced bouquet of fruit, with notes of apricot, dates and stewed plums. On the palate it is warm and velvety, with a pleasant hint of dried fruit.
Perfect to accompany delicious aperitifs with blue cheeses, this Marsala is ideal in combination with desserts and dried fruit, or as a fortified meditation wine.
