Description

The Maremma Toscana Tenuta Belguardo di Mazzei was born in the homonymous estate, located in the Maremma Toscana on the hills between Grosseto and Montiano, a few kilometers from the sea.

It is mainly produced with Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc grapes, rigorously harvested by hand, the first ones from October 6th and the second ones from mid-September. The grapes are left to ferment and macerate for 16 days at a controlled temperature of 28-30 C °. The wine is then aged for 18 months in French oak barrels, mostly new.

It is a red wine with a full and seductive body. The nose has hints of black spices and the palate is enveloping, with a complex and persistent taste.

Ideal in combination with cured meats, it is perfect to accompany red meats, steaks and medium-aged cheeses. Excellent also with spicy dishes.
