Bolgheri DOC Orio 2018 Podere Il Castellaccio

Bolgheri Rosso Orio comes from vineyards located in the municipality of Castagneto Carducci, in the heart of the Livorno Maremma. The soils of this area are characterized by a sandy-clayey texture with the presence of a skeleton, the climate alternates very long and bright summers with mild winters.

The fermentation of the Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Syrah grapes takes place in stainless steel for 20 days at a controlled temperature of 28 ° C. It follows spontaneous malolactic fermentation during the refinement which takes place for at least 12 months in second and third passage French oak barrels, then for at least 6 months in bottle.

Wine with a ruby red color, it offers the nose a wide and varied bouquet, made up of notes of red fruit, vanilla and spices. On the palate it is intense and well-fresh, with well-smoothed and integrated tannins that invite to the next sip.

Good in the company of roasts and stewed meats but also with medium-aged cheeses.
