Barolo DOCG 2015 Gemma

The Barolo of Cantina Gemma comes from the vineyards of the municipality of Serralunga d'Alba, in the province of Cuneo.

It is produced exclusively with Nebbiolo grapes, harvested and selected entirely by hand around the second half of October. Fermentation takes place, with maceration in contact with the skins, in stainless steel at a controlled temperature of maximum 28 ° C. Aging follows mainly in Slavonian oak barrels and partly in barriques for at least 38 months.

This Barolo di Gemma appears ruby red in color tending towards garnet. The nose enchants with a complex and intense bouquet, with notes of ripe red pulp fruit enriched with hints of dog rose and spices. In the mouth it reveals itself to be consistent and concentrated, with well integrated tannins which are softened by returns of fully ripe fruit.

It goes wonderfully with first courses based on truffles, roasts and stews.
